'Really? (Extended Mix)'

Song image
Song story and background information

Dynamic extended mix of a song originally featured on 'Younger Than Some, Smarter Than Most', and an extra track on the 'Love Is Not The Answer' single. This extended mix of 'Really?' lengthens the original album version, giving it a classic 80s "twelve inch mix" feel, with a longer rhythmic build-up and extra remixed sections in the middle and at the end of the song. The idea was to create a typical rearranged "club mix", the type of which has long since been replaced in the charts with dance remixes and dub versions by remix artists and DJs.

Lyrics
I've been here for all my life
It's my home, though I don't know why
I had schemes, determined ways
To get me out of this city's chains
Nobody heard the slightest sound
They just shrugged and then turned around
Will I be here forever more?
Ever further from the dancefloor

Is this really all there is?
A million miles from what I'd wished
I thought everything would change
Why does it always stay the same?

Despite my tries
I'm still here, though I don't know why
I had dreams of other scenes
Situations so far from these
Where are they now? I couldn't tell
Maybe right now it's just as well
Will I be here eternally?
Ever further from my destiny

Is this really all that's here?
A million dreams just disappear
I thought I would be the one
To get away from everyone
Yes, I wanted so much more
Than this painful tug-of-war
Never meant to hang around
In this cold and shallow town

Is this really all there is?
A million miles from what I'd wished
I thought everything would change
Why does it always stay the same?

Well, maybe I should just conceed
That I want more than I need
And I'm meant to hang around
In this cold and shallow town

Is this really all there is?
Is this really all there is?
