TRUST NO ONE
'A Moment's Bliss'

Song story and background information

The extra song on the 'Excuses' Virtual Single. 'A Moment's Bliss' is a very much slower paced affair than Trust No One's usual material, being written with the feel of Angelo Badalamenti's 'Twin Peaks' music in mind. The track was composed, mixed and produced solely by Andrew Morrison, and is a sensitive lament to a lost love. Although written in 1994, the original demo version was not recorded until the summer of '95 (when it was recorded for a girlfriend at the end of a relationship - who is actually sampled in the tune). 'A Moment's Bliss' can also be found on Trust No One's 2004 'Tempo Changes' promotional CD Sampler.

Lyrics
I know you, I fear you
Whenever I'm near you
I can't seem to tell you
Just what I feel for you
I need you to go through
This with me - it's all new
I'm lusting, pulse beating
I still feel you're cheating

It's trusting, trusting you
Should be easy to do
With all that I've been through
I trust no one but you
I'm trying, I'm trying
This complex is my thing
I'll handle it my way
Do you feel just the same?

I've never wanted anything before
I've never felt more than expendable
Maybe you have made me think new ways
I've never known anything than cold days
Maybe I'm reading too much in this
I expect only a moment's bliss

I feel like an old fool
That's followed the last rule
And been walked all over
I'm trying, I'm trying
I feel like I'm dying

I've never wanted anything before
I've never felt more than expendable
Maybe you have made me think new ways
I've never known anything than cold days
Maybe I'm reading too much in this
I expect only a moment's bliss
I have learned I must abandon this
I deserve only a moment's bliss

I'm trying, I'm trying
I'm trying, I'm trying
I'm trying, I'm trying
I feel like, feel like I'm dying
